His theodicies and ruminations on subjects such as time have been studied and appreciated well into the modern era. The collected works of Saint Augustine, or Augustine of Hippo, a theologian and philosopher whose writings influenced the development of much of Western philosophy and Western Christianity. He is viewed as one of the most important Church Fathers of the Latin Church in the Patristic Period.
