This has been attached to the first free endpaper. William Hague is a British Conservative MP and life peer. He served as Leader of the Conservative Party (and Opposition) from 1997 to 2001. When he returned to the backbenches Hague pursued his writing career and wrote this historical biography as well as a biography of William Pitt the Younger. William Wilberforce is best remembered as the leader of the movement to abolish the slave trade in Britain and its colonies in the early nineteenth century. Illustrated with twenty four plates of illustrations in black and white and colour. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's cloth binding and unclipped dust wrapper. Externally, excellent. There is some very slight bumping to the head and tail of the spine. There is some slight creasing to the extremities of the dust wrapper and one small closed and repaired tear to the top of the front. Internally, firmly bound. The pages are very bright and clean.
