John Alexander Harvie-Brown (1844-1916) was a Scottish ornithologist and naturalist. His most famous expedition was with Henry Seebohm to the lower reaches of the Pechora River in 1875, when the eggs of the grey plover and the little stint were discovered. He gives an account of this expedition, as well as his travels to Norway in 1871 and Archangel in 1872, in these two volumes, with details on natural history and ornithology. In the publisher's original cloth bindings. Externally very smart, though with small marks to the spines, and small marks to the front board of Vol II. Internally, firmly bound.
