Marjorie Isabel Batten (1903-1962) wrote Volume I, an important book because it was published a year after the SPAB Windmills Fund was launched to raise money for the preservation of windmills. Batten was among a small number of pioneering women in the preservation of historic buildings. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally smart, though Vol II is a little faded, and Vol I is faded to the spine with a small ink stain. Internally, firmly bound.
