Lacking one folding map.Baillie discusses many aspects of the city at the opening of the nineteenth century, including its foreign trade, public buildings, coal works and manufacture, and population.To the rear of the work is a list of Newcastle Mayors and Sheriffs from 1400 to 1801. Rebound in half calf, with marble paper covered boards, and endpapers renewed. Externally, fine. Internally, firmly bound. Pages age toned due to paper type, with tide marks and spotting to perimeters of title page. One folding map with partial loss to one corner, restored.
