Baker, the founder of Baker Furniture who achieved overnight popularity following the 1925 Paris Exposition. With an introduction by Sir Gordon Russell (1892-1980), an English designer, craftsman and educationist who was influenced by the Arts and Crafts movement and eventually became the director of the Council of Industrial Design.Dated ink inscription to front paste down, belonging to 'B. Externally, excellent, with light fading to the extremities and the head and tail of spine. Prior owner's ink inscription to verso of front endpaper.Dust wrapper is very smart, with light chipping and edge wear to the extremities and the spine region of wraps, and a few marks to the front wraps. Closed tear to the bottom of the front wrap and light age-toning to the top edge of the reverse of wraps and the fly leaves. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean throughout.
