In the publisher"s original cloth binding. Externally, smart. Gilt decoration to the front board and gilt title on the spine. A few light marks to the boards and spine. Some slight edgewear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine. Bumping to the extremities. Hinges are starting. Pastedowns and front end paper slightly age-toned. Former bookseller's label to the bottom right hand corner of the front pastedown. Name of previous owner and date pencilled in on front endpaper. Internally, quite firmly bound. Binding loosening slightly in the centre pages (64-65 & 80-81) and towards the back. Some slight spotting to the end pages and markings at the bottom of pages 156-165.
