The first issue is indeed rarely seen as only few copies of the uncorrected text were circulated and even less survive today. This work was Greene's first true success, set on a train journey from Ostend to Istanbul. The book was printed in the US as Orient Express, and made into a film bearing the same name, directed by Paul Martin and starring Heather Angel, Norman Foster, and Ralph Morgan. In a library full cloth binding. In a library full cloth binding. Externally sound with some shelf wear and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities, general rubbing to the boards and spine, fading to the spine. Evidence of the attempted removal of library stickers to the front pastedown. Professional tape repairing to the inner gutter of the title page. Internally, firmly bound.
