Signed also to a front endpaper 'To Norman & Mack with the regards of Alva Adams', dated December 25 1909.Translated from the original French, this manuscript was first published in English in 1817, with Adams explaining 'this manuscript was written in the first person and purports to be a review of Napoleon's career by Napoleon', serving as a defence of his actions as soldier and Emperor. In a half morocco bindings, with marbled paper covered boards. Rebacked, with the original back strip laid down and endpapers renewed. Loss to paper at tail of front board. Author's inscription to a front endpaper, with tape repairs to this leaf. Internally, firmly bound. Signed to verso of title page. Pages clean and bright. Very Good . Ill.: None. Very Good .
