The first edition of this work, being a collection of personal letters exchanged by Clifton master Francis Medley Bartholomew to his friends. Creating a portrait of the man's life and character creating a personal family memoir, published for private circulation only. A scarce volume. Including a prefatory biographical sketch, his diary from August 7 to December 22, 1893, notes, and letters. Bound in full paper vellum. Illustrated with an original photograph portrait of Bartholomew to the frontispiece, and other three full page page, of which one in colour. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full paper vellum binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and only light soiling to the boards and spine, the spine only slightly darkened. Edward Dillon Mansfield bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. With a faint minor spotting to the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are bright and clean. Illustrated with an original photograph portrait of Bartholomew to the frontispiece, and other three full page page, of which one in colour. Collated, complete.  Very Good . Ill.: Not Stated.
