A scarce volume. Including a prefatory biographical sketch, his diary from August 7 to December 22, 1893, notes, and letters. Bound in full paper vellum. Illustrated with an original photograph portrait of Bartholomew to the frontispiece, and other three full page page, of which one in colour. Collated, complete. In the original publisher's full paper vellum binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear and only light soiling to the boards and spine, the spine only slightly darkened. Edward Dillon Mansfield bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. With a faint minor spotting to the first and last few leaves, otherwise the pages are bright and clean.
