The first edition of this work.Signed by Blakeston and Bruguiere to the verso of the half-title. Illustrated with photographs by Francis Joseph Bruguiere. He was known for experimenting with multiple-exposure, solarization and abstracts. Bruguiere worked with Blakeston on the first British abstract film 'Light Rhythms' which precedes this book by four years. With 12 black and white photographic reproductions of Bruguiere's surrealist images. Collated, complete.Oswell Blakeston is a pseudonym of Henry Joseph Hasslacher. The pseudonym is an homage to the author Osbert Sitwell and his mother's maiden name. This is one of many works written under this pseudonym. An avant garde work, by two important abstract artists. In the original full cloth binding. Externally, very smart. Light bumping to the extremities. Several light spots to the boards. Signed by the author and illustrator to the verso of half-title.
