This work quickly attracted popularity, since eating wild fungi was considered dangerous in general opinion.Charles David Badham was an important mycologist, physician and writer. Two species of fungi have been named for him, Badhamia and Badhamiopsis. He also penned works on insects and cerebral disease.Bound in the publisher's lovely original cloth with gilt fungi to the front board.Illustrated with twelve plates in colour to the rear of the work; collated, complete. In the publisher's original full cloth binding. Externally very smart, with just a little bumping to the extremities. Internally generally firmly bound, with front hinge a little strained but remaining firm, as well as a little strained to pages 32 and 33.
