An early French edition. The fifth French edition of this work, translated from the original German of Clement Brentano by E. de Cazales. recounting of the life of the Saint Virgin Mary as noted by Anne Catherine Emmerich, a Roman Catholic Augustinian Canoness Regular of Windesheim, who throughout her life experienced numerous visions on the life and passion of Jesus Christ. According to Emmerich, these visions were revealed to her by the Virgin Mary herself, while under religious ecstasy. Clement Brentano interviewed her at length before the publication of this volume and others.
