Baumgarten was the editor for the first sixteen volumes, and after his death his assistant Johann Salomo Semler continued the work. In German. This particular volume discusses the history of Jewish people until the destruction of Jerusalem in 589BC and the history of Parthian people up to the reconquest of the empire by Persia. An uncommon work, particularly in such a bright condition. In a contemporary full calf binding. Externally, generally smart. Rubbing to the joints and extremities. Patches of rubbing to the boards. Spine label is lacking. Internally, firmly bound.
