After the devastation of Coventry by the Luftwaffe, a group of citizens started considering if the famous Peckham Experiment could be reproduced in Coventry, in relation to the rebuilding of the city. A community established about a Family Health Club, and Dr. Barlow was an active participant in the entreprise. This thorough book is the result of that experience and his reflections.The Peckham Experiment was an experiment wanting to determine whether people in a community would take interest in their own health and fitness and expend effort in maintaining it. It was conducted between 1926 and 1950, raising concerns over the health for the working class, and raising interest in preventive social medicine. With price-clipped dustwrapper.
