Boston Henry Hoyt, 1862. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall, Hard Cover, Good. Juvenile religious book recruiting youngsters to join in the fight for salvation by following their Captain, Jesus Christ, by using the story of a young soldier. Mauve blind-stamped boards, gilt spine lettering, 36 pages. Some light external wear and quite a bit of fading, good hinges, firm binding. Pages clean with a name on the front free endpaper, a few very faint margin dampstains (not affecting text). Some light insect damage to the final five leaves of the book, some affecting the text, but the text is still quite readable. A nice, sound copy. Illustrated with engravings.
