First Edition. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall, Hard Cover, Good to Very Good. A collection of short stories, including the title story, which involves a cruise with Paul Boyton, a man "with the rubber life-saving rig; has rescued lots of people from drowining; floated down most of the rivers of Europe and a good many in this country". This cruise took place in Florida. Other stories include: Boy-Divers in the Red Sea; St. Butolph's Town; Some Queer Americans; The Boy King of Egypt; and The Jewelled Tomb. Illustrated in black and white. Olive cloth with a strange front cover illustration of a man in a rubber suit with a sail attached to him (presumably, this is Paul Boyton), unpaginaged (about 120 pages). Covers have gotten damp at one point, with the lower outside corners and bottom edge discolored, endpapers stained. Text is very clean and bright with no evidence of dampstaining, just some pencil markings on the endpapers. Hinges good, binding sound, no chips or tears to the pages.
