Oblong hardback, appx 10 3/4 x 13 1/4 inches (27.3 x 34 cm), 240 pages, VG+ to Near Fine in G+ to VG- dj (dj in mylar). SIGNED "Owen J. Gromme" on half-title page. No previous owner markings or inscriptions. Rather small amount of fading to cloth along top edges. DJ clean with hardly any surface rubbing (very small amount to back panel), but uneven fading to both f&b dj panels. (Also the jacket's spine bkg. is gray, probably brown originally.) DJ rubbed along sides of spine as well as head and heel of spine & has some edge faults - couple of short tears top edge of front panel + 4 or 5 edge tears to the back panel where there are two tiny chips out and one small chip out (this largest chip measuring only 1/8th x 1/4th inch). There are some folds/creases in conjunction with most of the edge tears. Extensive biography of Gromme with numerous vintage photos. Commenting on the Wisconsin Citizens Natural Resources Association's 1976 efforts to defend Horicon Marsh, which efforts Gromme had became involved with, "It's a hell of a thing when you have to hire an attorney to fight the people who are supposed to be working in your best interests in the first place.
