Boston. Lothrop Publishing Company. 1904. First Edition with "Copyright, 1901" on the copyright page. With a frontispiece of "Map of Social Island." Personally Signed and Inscribed in brown ink on the free front endpaper: "Compliments of the author Frederick Upham Adams. Boston June 24, 1901." A good, solid copy, bound in bright red woven cloth with flecking along the edges of the spine. Bright front panel printed in gold and silver, with drawings of a stock ticker machine and bags of gold coins. Hinges are tight and the book is clean throughout except for a small thumbnail-sized patch of water damage to the bottom corner of the rear panel.
