NY. Random House. The Modern Library. 1934. First Edition. Signed in pencil by Auden: "W.H. Auden" on the second free endpaper. Scarce: Only 1,595 copies printed. VG- in terracotta cloth stamped in gilt on the front boards and spine. Spine darkened and faded. With some occasional notes, underlinings, and comments. Apparently, someone used "Paid on Both Sides: A Charade" dedicated to Cecil Day-Lewis as a script, and wrote in all the characters' names next to their key letters. An intriguing book, signed by Auden.
