12. Nov. 1819 A handsome engraving of John Quincy Adams from a painting by A.B. Durand. Written in bold thick, black ink: "12.Nov. 1819/ Secry. of State with Doccuments/ Department of State./ Underscored/ J.Q. Adams. With piece of red sealing wax in upper left-hand corner of matte. A very handsome piece. J.Q. Adams, the son of John Adams, was Secretary of State from 1817-1825 and was the 6th President of the U.S. from 1825-29. Handsomely matted and framed (13.5" x 8.75") with photograh and signature both displayed to advantage. Framed at Goodspeed's Bookshop, Boston on 3/21/80.
