Few very faint spots on side of text block. Hard cover is black with silver lettering on front and spine. DJ has light bumping and shelf wear; in a mylar cover. Pages are clean and tight; appears as if unused. While title page states 1928, this seems to be a later reprint, possibly 1978 from AMS Press in NYC. Illustrated with 7 b/w photos, the one bound into the front of book, is a folded photograph of the waterfront or harbor. Bound in near center of book is a colored fold out map of Shanghai 1855. A really nice presentation of a fairly scarce book in top notch condition. Addenda; bibliography; index.. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket .
