Title: A Short History of Shanghai Being an Account of the Growth and Development of the International Settlement
Description: Shanghai, China: Kelly & Walsh, 1928. First Edition Thus. Reprint; Hardcover. B&W Illustrations & maps; 6 x 8 1/2; xiii,336 pages; Hard cover has some mild rubbing/scuffing. Few very faint spots on side of text block. Hard cover is black with silver lettering on front and spine. DJ has light bumping and shelf wear; in a mylar cover. Pages are clean and tight; appears as if unused. While title page states 1928, this seems to be a later reprint, possibly 1978 from AMS Press in NYC. Illustrated with 7 b/w photos, the one bound into the front of book, is a folded photograph of the waterfront or harbor. Bound in near center of book is a colored fold out map of Shanghai 1855. A really nice presentation of a fairly scarce book in top notch condition. Addenda; bibliography; index.. Very Good+ in Very Good dust jacket .
