Edges have some light soiling else very good in lightly shelfworn dustjacket with some Russell family history noted on the front flap verso in pencil and ink else very good. This copy has been boldly inscribed on the front fly by author Russell Baker "To - -/My Colleague in the/word trade-and/favorite hot dog supplier/Russell Baker/Nov. 15, 1982". Additionally laid is in a TLS to the same inscribee typed on Baker's personalized New York Times stationary, twice folded and with the accompanying addressed envelope with The New York Times address on the flap "April 15, 1982/Dear (with correction) - (with correction)/The hotdogs were very/good quality, though I'm not prepared/to agree yet that they're 'best/in the world." The trouble is,/they're too big./When you want a hot/dog, you don't necessarily want a meal./I boil them, cut them in half, then/grill them for best results./Thanks,/Russell Baker". A wonderful copy of author Russell Baker's best selling memoir. Uncommon when inscribed by Baker and even more so with a TLS. A great book.
