Edges are faintly tanned else both volumes near fine in original slipcase with pasted labels to both panels. Labels are slightly tanned and have some light soiling and chipping. Extremities have some light wear. Joints are tender as usual else very good. Consists of: Volume I. "Being an Exotic Cookery Book or Up and Down the Andes with Knife, Fork and Spoon" and Volume II. Being An Exotic Drinking Book or Up and Down the Andes with Jigger, Beaker and Flask". A wonderful set. Uncommon, especially with the slipcase in any condition. The companion set to Charles Baker, Jr. earlier and more common "The Gentleman's Companion" published in 1946 and also issued in the same two volume format in slipcase in red cloth.
