The Studio, Special Winter Number 1898-9. quarto later cloth, original wrapper bound in; 78pp, numerous ills with eight tipped in plates on various papers (some colour). ¶ An “extra illustrated” copy: bound at the end are 22 sheets of heavy grey paper with 36 original bookplates mounted. A few date from the 18th century, most from the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The latter include Austin Osman Spare’s 1905 bookplate for Pickford Waller and Byam Shaw’s plate for Dorothy Buckmaster signed in pencil by Shaw.
