Coolidge who played a key role in the discovery and description of the 'pygmy chimpanzee' in the late 1920s. Coolidge also wrote the foreword to this volume. This volume contains 17 chapters on all aspects of the biology and behavior of the 'pygmy chimpanzee' by noted authorities in the field. There is a name stamp of a former owner on the front endpaper. Some rubbing to the outer joints and at the base of the spine; overall a tight and clean copy in near fine condition..
