Notes; Engraved title-page. Includes bibliographical references. In his Preface (p. ii) Shaw acknowledges his indebtedness to Rev. Dr. Ingram of Trinity College. Oxford. for the History and Description of the Chapel. All twenty plates are signed as drawn and engraved by H. Shaw. Each carries the publishers' imprint of Carpenter and Son (and publication-date). The dedication headpiece is signed as drawn by T. Willement and engraved by Shaw; the illustration on page 14 is signed as drawn and engraved by Shaw. The printer is named in the colophon: ' 'R. Clay. Printer. Bread-Street-Hill.' (But the RIBA's copy is catalogued as having the imprint of W. Davy at this place.) The work is dedicated by Henry Shaw to John Crichton Stuart. Marquess of Bute.
