Also includes a very lengthy essay by Allan Burroughs, "X-Ray Examination of Seventeenth Century American Paintings Exhibited at the Worcester Art Museum." Includes a sample record of examination (via x-ray) as well as images of some of the portraits both before and after restoration. Includes an index of top portraits. An excellent reference. Good, Covers/contents clean and tight but with darkening to end papers. Spine darkened and cracks to paper layers. Library bookplate inside front cover .
