Each volume protected in its own library folio, with burgundy cloth boards and string ties. Oversize. Furniture reference and pattern book for 18th century English furnishings. Works of Chippendale, Pergolesi, R & J Adam, Sheraton, Richardson, Columbani, Ince and Mayhew, Lock, Darley, Wyatt, Heppelwhite, Wallis, W. Jones and Kent & Co. VG- (The majority of plates are VG+ condition, clean and unmarked. Ex-lib. with library perforation stamp and ink accession stamp on title page. Some volumes contain bookdealer markings [e.g. Librairie E. Hessling, Paris; B.T. Batsford, London. Perf stamp appears elsewhere at least once in each volume. Vol 1.1: cloth ripped at top and bottom of spine, some wear to cloth, binding cracked after text. Vol 1.2: cloth over spine is quite damaged; both hinges are loose; spots on final text page. Vol 2.1: small tear in cloth spine; binding intact; foxing to the description page for plate 101. Plate 110 has a missing folded corner. Vol 2.2: cloth over spine ripped with some portions missing; wear to cloth at corners; rear hinge separating at top).
