Description: Saint-Malo, France, possibly F. Sinnett, 1840. Hardcover. Red boards with gilt design. 11 hand-colored plates, ea. 4x6 inches. A small volume of different kinds of dress for members of the Catholic clergy: Curate, Priest, Choir Members, a Choir Boy, Incense Carrier, Sacristan, Swiss Guard, Deacon, Seminarian, Catholic School Master. Contains a list in back of other costume picture books with lithographs by Beneritter. Beautifully hand colored. Would be lovely framed. Ill.: Beneritter. Good. Ex-lib with book plate inside front cover and stamps on back of last plate. Plates all VG- or Good. Images are very good, but one or two have slight foxing in background, and last two have had outer margins cut by a half inch. Covers worn and with library tape at binding.
