A collection of sermons and religious thought written and gathered by John Willison in order to give housebound and sick people religious work to refer to. Willison was an evangelical minister as part of the Church of Scotland, with this work, first published in 1734, being his most popular. Good condition. Moderate to heavy scuffing to the leather especially along the extremities and spine. Minor soiling. Endpapers browned and offset. old ownership signature on the first endpaper. Scattered toning to the text block throughout, with minor scattered soiling. Good .
