Vollbehr, Dr. Otto H.F. - [Fascism, Far Right] Is Pacifism Possible? a Reply

Title: [Fascism, Far Right] Is Pacifism Possible? a Reply
Description: No Place, No publisher. Wraps. No publisher or place. Perhaps Los Angeles, 1934. Printed wraps. 11 pp. A subtle pro (Nazi) Germany piece of propaganda that asserts pacifists, or those who remain neutral in war are those who make many off both sides. Vollbehr also disparages international law and the League of Nations, declaring that Germany was made a criminal for defending itself in World War I. Otto Vollbehr was a German chemist and inventor who was perhaps most noted for his collection of incunabula and early printed works, much of which were purchased by the Huntington Library and Library of Congress. In the 1930s Vollbehr became part of a committee that worked for the Nazi Propaganda Ministry. He worked in the US to disseminate pro-Nazi material in various publications and newspapers. His activity was investigated by the US Congress in 1934, resulting in some criticism of the Library of Congress's acquisition of some of his collection. He testified that some of the proceeds of the sale of his collection funded the printing of propaganda materials. GOOD condition. Ex-library with markings/stamping on the front cover. Wrappers toned, with some wrinkling and minor soiling. Corners a bit curled. Text block toned. Good .
