Title: Myself and the Theatre
Description: New York, E.P Dutton, 1930. First American Edition. Cloth. Original cloth in unclipped dust jacket. No price present on the jacket, but this does not appear to be a book club edition. 205 pp. With black and white illustrations throughout. More than a memoir, this work offers insight into early 20th century Russian theater, including the author's sister, Vera, the founder of the Russian Symbolist Theatre. Komisarjevsky discusses various productions, both his own and that of his sister, and explains his methodology and his expectations from acting and actors. Striking dust jacket by Theodore Nadejen. GOOD jacket and book. Mostly minor fading to the front jacket panel, with heavy fading to the spine, and moderate fading to the rear panel. Minor soiling to the front panel, with moderate soiling and darkening to the rear panel. Several small chips missing from the upper extremity, with the head of the spine missing. A few minor tears also present along the upper edge. Uneven minor fading and very minor soiling to the book. A few small areas of darkening along the exterior hinges. Minor edgewear. Offsetting and minor foxing present to the endpapers. Interior clean and solid. Good/Good.
