Most likely a retelling of a British story, as indicated by records found in the OCLC. 16 pages, although only 8 pages of text, as the text/pictures were printed on only one side of each page. With eight hand-colored illustrations, as well as an illustrated paper cover. A children's tale involving insects. In POOR condition. Tattered sewn binding, with thread exposed and worn. Heavy soiling to the covers. Heavy creasing, fading, and other wear to the covers. Cover appears to be cropped along the upper edge, with no loss of illustration. VERY LARGE diagonal TEAR along the lower front, with a smaller 2 ½ horizontal tear also present extending out from the lower hinge. A few small tears present along the fore edge of the rear cover, although significantly less wear to the rear than the front. Inner text is clean and intact, with the first illustration affected by the aforementioned tear to the front cover. Minor tear present to all the pages in the fore edge margin, slightly affecting text/illustrations. Moderate soiling, darkening as well as some minor foxing to the pages. Small faint price notation in pencil (by previous owner) on first page, as well as a faint ownership signature in ink, slightly cropped off. Solid copy in POOR condition, with charming hand colored illustrations. Poor .
