ROGERS, Roy (1912-98) and EVANS, Dale (1912-2001) - Inscribed Photographs Signed

Title: Inscribed Photographs Signed
Description: The "King of the Cowboys" belonged to the "Sons of the Pioneers" singing group (1932-38) before breaking into films and starring in dozens of Westerns; "The Roy Rogers Show" on television brought him millions of new young fans from 1951 to 1964. Evans was a leading lady in Westerns and starred with her husband on his television show. Pair of fabulous IPsS, glossy 8" X 10", n.p. n.d. [ca. 1960s]. Very good. Slightest of edgewear, with light tape stain and pin holes at each corner. This pair of complementary glossies shows a young Rogers peering up from a saddle in full cowboy regalia with pistol at the draw, while hers is a half-length studio portrait of a smiling young Evans in cowgal getup. Rogers inscribes and signs boldly in blue ballpoint in a light area at upper right "To Donald / Best of Luck and / our best wish always / Sincerely / Roy Rogers / & Trigger." Evans inscribes boldly in black fountain pen in a light area at upper left "To Donald / Sincerely / Dale Evans." A stunning pair, and scarcer than one might imagine -- secretarial Rogers signatures abound. .
