Description: Chicago, Rand McNally & Company, 1970. Folio (24" X 18", folds down to 6" X 9"). Heavy stock beige. Very good. Original mailing folds, else bright and nice, without edgewear. This promotional poster issued by Disabled American Veterans features numerous color artist renderings chronicling Lincoln's life from "Birth in Kentucky" to "The Last Full Measure," each with descriptive paragraph beneath each image. Verso features facsimile of the Gettysburg Address in Lincoln's hand in actual size at center, surrounded by text of same in eight different languages (each printed in a different color). Caption above them all reads, "The immortal words of Abraham Lincoln at the Gettysburg battlefield, November 19, 1863, on the occasion of the dedication of the National Military Cemetery. These classic remarks have, in the intervening century, become accepted throughout the world as the greatest affirmation of our democratic form of government. -- RALPH G. NEWMAN" -- and alongside this an original signature of Newman on a 3½" X 3/4" slip has been affixed. Ralph G. Newman (1912-98) was the famed founder of Chicago's notable Abraham Lincoln Book Shop. .
