Attractive first edition of this volume of the Proceedings of the Chicago Historical Society. On the front flyleaf, the author inscribes and signs large and bold in black ink: "Mr Le Grand Burton / Compliments of / D. Goodwin Jr." Goodwin (1832-1901) was a noted Chicago attorney, author and genealogist. Nice copy of a title seldom found signed. .
