BEACH, Rex (1877-1949) - Typed Note Signed

Title: Typed Note Signed
Description: This American novelist and playwright (member of the American water polo team at the 1904 Olympics) often used his experiences in Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush as the basis for his adventure tales such as "The Spoilers" (1906); a household name in the early 20th century because of bestsellers such as "The Net" (1912), "Don Careless" (1928), "Jungle Gold" (1935) and many others, he committed suicide at age 71. TNS, 1p, 8½" X 11", Sebring, FL, n.y. April. Addressed to O.J. Kadlec. Good only. While complete content-wise, there is a homely 3" X 3 3/4" paper loss at upper right corner, removing the letter's typed year, and a couple of small edge chips further down on the right margin, which is worn; verso shows old but neat and discreet and archival mends. Beach tells an admirer "I'll be delighted to autograph any copy or copies of my books which you may care to send me.." Bold, sharp signature in brown ink. .
