FIELD, Henry - The Track of Man: Adventures of an Anthropologist

Title: The Track of Man: Adventures of an Anthropologist
Description: Garden City, Doubleday & Company, 1953. Hardcover. 8vo. Tan cloth, pictorial dust jacket. 448pp. Map endpapers. Near fine/very good. Mild jacket edgewear. A tight, attractive later printing, with a choice presentation inscription from the author on the half-title page in blue ink: "To Adlai / With admiration / Henry / 1955." "Adlai" is Adlai E. Stevenson II (1900-65), Illinois governor, U.N. ambassador and two-time presidential candidate (1952, 1956). Field was grand-nephew of Chicago's Marshall Field, so it's not surprising the anthropologist would have known the statesman. .
