Apparent first edition (1916) of this popular series of numbered booklets bearing titles such as "What Food Is and Its True Purpose," "How Wrong Eating Causes Disease," "Harmonious Combinations of Food and Digestive Inharmonies," "Emaciation, Its Cause and Cure -- With Sample Menus," "Food and Morality," etc. Laid in loose is a 2-page "Important -- Read This Before You Open the Lessons" leaflet. The wraparound printed slipcase label lists the full title of all 24 pamphlets. Christian (born around 1862) was a curious New York food figure -- the Jenny Craig of the World War One era. .
