Title: The Philharmonic Society of New York and Its Seventy-Fifth Anniversary: A Retrospect
Description: N.p. [New York], N.p. 1917. Hardcover. Small 8vo. Blue cloth, gilt. 130pp. Top edge gilt. Frontispiece, illustrations. Very good. Almost a "Near fine," for it's tight, clean and handsome with just a touch of wear. First edition of this privately printed (by the Philharmonic Society, presumably?) handsome production, penned by the brilliant and influential American music critic and music editor of "The New York Sun" (1857-1921). Very uncommon. From the library of musicologist and conductor/director Paul Clinton Echols (1944-94). .
