Description: The popular bandleader and pianist was a regular on Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby's radio shows and was the original bandleader on Steve Allen's "Tonight Show" in the 1950s. Signed Postal Cover, 6½" X 3½", cancelled in Henderson's hometown (Halstad, Minnesota) on the date of his birth (27 January) 1972. Single 8-cent U.S. flag stamp at upper right. Near fine. NOT a First Day Cover, but an enterprising admirer had this cover cancelled at an appropriate place on an appropriate date, hence the relevance. With original transmittal envelope and transmittal letter on Tulsa Philharmonic Orchestra letterhead from Henderson's secretary. .
