The Hume-Rousseau essay deals (pages 47-81) with the relationship between the two following the threat of prosecution of Rousseau after the publication of Emile. Numerous items of correspondence by both, 1763-1766. This volume is in very good condition with leather spine and marbled paper boards. Wear at the spine extremities, tips, and edges, bookplate, signature on the first page, and foxing.
