An exhibition that reviews the figure of the sculptor Germán Cueto (Mexico 1893-1975), an artist who belonged to “Cercle et Carré” during his stay in Paris and who took part in the memorable exhibition the group held in the 1930s. On his return to Mexico he continued to research into forms between the abstract and the figurative, finding in the art of masks a place of experimentation where he could link up the language of modern sculpture with ancient Mexican cultures. Exhibition presenting 100 sculptures by futurist and abstract sculptor Cueto (b. Mexico, 1893-1975). Cueto, considered the most important sculptor of the Estridentista movement, was a multifaceted and skilled sculptor very interested in Mexican popular art, especially folkloric masks. FRENCH AND SPANISH TEXTS.
