Frontis, xi, 416 pp; xi, 402 pp. 8vo. Juan de Vega was the pseudonym of Charles Cochrane (1807-1855), grandson of Thomas Cochrane, Earl of Dundonald (commander of both the Chilean and Brazilian navies), who, after posing as a Spanish minstrel while traveling through Britain and Ireland, later went on to become an important social reformer and President of the National Philanthropic Association. Very good copies with moderate wear to spine head and minor foxing on preliminaries of Vol. I only, joints and backstrip a bit scuffed, interior clean and bright.
