The pages are clean without markings but with some toning to page edges, there is light rubbing to the cover edges and corner tips, some volumes show more wear than others with some splitting to the heads and spine, and rubbing to cover edges, while other volumes show very little wear at all thus Good ex-library set. Blue grey cloth with gold titles. Vol I: xxx, 899pp, 542 plates some in colour. Vol 2 xix, 839pp 489 plates with tape repair to plate 273 . Vol 3: xx,863pp, 500 plates. Vol 4: xx, 831pp, 468plates. Vol 5: xx, 774pp, 482 plates. Vol 6 xx, 958pp, 474 plates. This volume has a 1/5" split to the head of the spine and the spine edges reinforced with magic tape. Vol 7: xx, 987pp, 500 plates. This volume has a piece of tape reinforcing the head of spine. Vol 8 xx, 1103pp, 450 plates. This volume has a piece of tape reinforcing the head of spine. Vol 9, xx,930pp, 548 plates. Vol 10, xx, 931pp, 510 plates. Vol 11: xx, 939pp, 466 plates. Vol 12: xx, 918pp, 572 plates. This volume which contains the section on Renaissance Art, has been shaken with repairs to some of the signatures. Vol 13: xx, 1046pp, 470 plates. Vol 14: xx, 974p, 484 plates. Vol 15: lii, 657pp. No plates as this volume contains the index. This volume is split along the rear spine edge and there is tape reinforcement to the head of the spine. Please note that except for the last volume that there are two "page numbers per page, one for aech of the two text columns on each page for easy searching. This is an excellent refernce work with the text entirely in ENGLISH. An extremely very heavy set. (130.0 APX FO). Good.
