Tours France, Alfred Mame et Fils. 1875. Hard Cover, 24mo - over 5" - 5¾" tall. Very light rubbing to corner tips and high portions of spine bands, no markings, Very Good. Approx 13.5 x 9.5 cm, dark brown leather with a monogram ("DC" or perhaps "DM") in silver to the front panel, with 5 raised bands to the plain spine, all edges gilt, burgundy coloured moiré endpapers with gold lace-like border around the edges of the pastedowns, two ribbon markers, [1-7] 8-576pp then there is a section entitled "Fetes propres au Diocese de Paris" [1] 2-56pp. Tissue-protected frontis showing the Holy family by Eittenbach(?); three other tissued-prtoected plates. The text is printed in black ink within 16 or 18 different floral borders in brick red ink. The book is divided into sections: Prieres du matin; priere apres le repas; prieres du soir; etc.; Litanes des saintes; Ordinaire de la messe; Cantique d'action de graces; etc. The text which is French, but sometimes in Latin and French (on double columns) was approved by J. Hipp. Archbishop of Paris. There is no date to the book but imprinted in gold on the front moiré pastedown are the words "Souvenir/ 2 Aout 1877". (1.6 JADO FO 23/1. Very Good.
