Description: Thomas Catherall, Chester,, 1856. 8vo., First Edition, with steel-engraved frontispiece (lightly spotted) and engraved plates and illustrations in the text, some moderate and occasional spotting; publisher's blue embossed cloth, upper board blocked and lettered in gilt, gilt back,uncut, primrose endpapers, long tears in joints (but binding entirely sound) else a firm, clean copy. With the armorial bookplate of R J Fynmore on front paste-down, 4pp of local trade advertisements at end and binder's ticket of Bone & Son on rear paste-down. VERY SCARCE. Anderson, p.66 (recording thirty-four illustrations).
