A spirited account of the role of Choudhary Rahmat Ali (1879-1951) in the creation of the Pakistan movement when he was a post-graduate student at Cambridge University in the early thirties where he founded his "Pakistan National Movement" in 1933. The author who seems to have been closely connected with the PNM specially outlines the opposition Rahmat Ali encountered from the Muslim League and others in India. Though his role is controversial, K.K.Aziz in his definitive biography as well as in his 4-volume study on the history of the idea of Pakistan tends toward giving him the central position in the origin, development and realization of the idea (Long, p.41). A scarce booklet not found in several of the principal bibliographies on Pakistan such as the recent one by David Taylor..
