Hardcover, no dustjacket, very good, nice binding with slightly faded gold printing on spine and decoration on cover; LIB2958006894; ; The Limited Editions Club was started and operated by George Macy from 1929to 1971 and produced one book a month, usually limited to 1, 500 numbered copies. The books were printed by the finest specialty printing companies in various countries, in unusally fine bindings and special papers, enclosed in slipcases, illustrated by a prominent illustrator, sometimes hand-colored, sometimes with original etchings, and usually signed by the illustrator. They are among the most beautiful books published and have become highly collectible. The club has continued since 1971 under various owners and today produces small numbers of ultra-expensive books.
